Often mistaken for a crossover event itself, Decimation, the aftermath of the House of M, was none. It was nothing else but a general theme involving many X-titles that dealt with the fallout of the mutant de-powering and the resulting effects on the X-Men and their friends. Actually, the term “decimation” is misleading as originally in Latin the word was used to describe the “removal of a tenth”, whereas it was approximately 90-95% of Earth’s mutant population who lost their powers on M-Day.
Each title involved in the aftermath of the House of M expanded upon the fallout in its own way; there was no specific plot or character jumping from issue to issue. Marvel tried to make it easier for readers to identify the involved issues by printing a logo on the side of each cover; it was the tattered remains of the House of M flag. It could be argued that there are several more issues dealing with the fall-out of the House of M, but the following list contains only those issues that were officially part of the Decimation theme.
