Over the years, Legion's mind has become a very crowded place filled with over a thousand distinct personalities as well as the minds he has absorbed from the outside world. Below is a listing of the personalities and powers that have inhabited David's mind thus far.
Jemail Karami
First appearance: New Mutants (1st series) #26
Powers: telepathy
NOTES: Jemail was a Palestinian terrorist who was killed and psionically absorbed when David’s powers manifested. Jemail acquired David's telepathic talent and through using it, gained the empathy that he lacked in his actual life. He became David's fiercest protector and spent years trying to heal Legion's fractured psyche. Jemail was last seen as a spirit disassociated from Legion, his current whereabouts are uncertain. Jack Wayne
First appearance: New Mutants (1st series) #26
Powers: telekinesis
NOTES: Jack Wayne was one of the original core personalities to emerge in Legion's mindscape. He was a manifestation of David's ideals around masculinity - a swaggering, adventurous "man's man" with a brutal and manipulative streak. Jack tried to win control of David's mind on several occasions. He was ultimately killed by Magik’s soulsword inside Legion’s mind [New Mutants (3rd series) #3] but was seemingly reconstituted by the Moira persona and was prominent among the citizens of Fortress X.
Cyndi
First appearance: New Mutants (1st series) #26
Powers: pyrokinetic
NOTES: Cyndi, a nihilist with a punk rock style, was the last of the original three personalities to manifest within Legion's mind. She embodied David's distrust of the adults in his life and the world in general. She was often the neutral persona in the struggle between Jemail and Jack Wayne for dominance in David's mind and switched allegiances as it suited her. She was last seen as a spirit disassociated from Legion, current whereabouts uncertain. [Excalibur (1st series) #121]
Legion, the God-Mutant
First appearance: X-Men (2nd series) #38
Powers: Consolidated psionic powers included telepathy, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, teleportation, molecular manipulation, travel through time and dimensional barriers, and fundamental power over the substance of reality
NOTES: Originally presented as a mentally stabilized version of David, in possession of all his powers, "the God-Mutant" was later retconed as a separate powerful persona in New Mutants (3rd series) #20-21.
Marci Sabol

Powers: none shown
NOTES: Marci was a young girl who was killed by one of Legion’s personalities and absorbed into his mind. The search for her killer led the reunited New Mutants to Legion and they helped to restore some semblance of control to him and get him to the X-Men for help.
Drexel

“Clown”

NOTES: The "clown" was another persona killed by Magik while she was inside Legion’s mindscape. [New Mutants (3rd series) #3] Like Jack Wayne, he reappeared and was given physical form during the Age of X.

NOTES: In New Mutants (3rd series) #20, the cannibalized corpse of the Age of Apocalypse's older Bishop appeared in Legion's mindscape. This suggests that Bishop died and was absorbed into Legion's mind as they discorporated in X-Men Omega.
X (Moira)

Powers: reality manipulator able to restructure the universe around her, constructing matter from nothing, altering the shape and composition of matter, repositioning people and objects, sensing events from a distance, bending the flow of time, and altering lifetime perception and memory
NOTES: The persona referred to as "X" and "Moira" emerged within David's mindscape in response to external efforts by Dr. Nemesis and the X-Club to eradicate Legion's splinter personalities in an effort to unify his mind. "Moira" acted as a kind of psychic antibody, using its vast reality-warping powers to create a world that would pacify these attackers, keep them otherwise occupied, and provide David himself with a safe and positive life. After its true nature and efforts were revealed, X was defeated and physically re-absorbed and contained by Legion. [New Mutants (3rd series) #24]
Legion, the Force Warrior

Powers: telekinesis
NOTES: In shaping the AGE OF X, "Moira" crafted an identity for David that would please and placate him. He was granted the telekinetic ability once possessed by Jack Wayne and used this gift as a member of the celebrated group called the Force Warriors. This version of Legion appeared to be mentally stable and fully matured but did not have full access to the powers of his other personas, who were all given form and inhabited the world that Moira had created.
Time-Sink (Personality #227)

Powers: chrono-sculptor able to manipulate time by freezing the course of events, forcing opponents to relive past experiences, and displace attacks by sending them backwards in time
NOTES: Time-Sink escaped David's mind and maintained a physical form following the AGE OF X. He was eventually defeated and physically re-absorbed and contained within Legion’s restructured mindscape. [X-Men Legacy (1st series) #250]
Chain

Powers: genetic reconstruction allows him to transform other people into duplicates of himself on contact, each outfitted with a different spontaneously generated form of weapon
NOTES: Yet another persona that escaped following the AGE OF X, Chain was eventually re-absorbed and contained in Legion’s mindscape. [X-Men Legacy (1st series) #251]
Susan in Sunshine
First appearance: X-Men Legacy (1st series) #249
Powers: empathic amplifier able to increase the existing emotions of people around her, then convert the psionic energy into explosive force energy
NOTES: Susan in Sunshine appeared as a perky little girl who just wanted to be free to play in the real world. She was defeated by Frenzy when she ripped the head off Susan's doll. Susan willingly returned to Legion's mind when he promised to fix her dolly. [X-Men Legacy (1st series) #251]
Bleeding Image
First appearance: X-Men Legacy (1st series) #249
Powers: tactile transference ability enables him to force others to experience any pain he feels at a highly magnified level
NOTES: Bleeding Image joined Styx in his exodus from Legion's mind following AGE OF X. During a battle with Rogue, he killed himself in a suicide bomb blast. Given that he perished outside of David's mind, it is unclear whether or not he was re-absorbed by Legion. [X-Men Legacy (1st series) #252]
Endgame

Powers: combat response power causes him to automatically adjust to attacks, assuming an enormous armored form with tremendous strength and durability, bludgeoning hands, laser discharges, and adaptive forms such as temporary intangibility or non-ferrous stone forms

Styx

NOTES: The Weaver was the largest and most mysterious of personalities inside the Qortex Complex. Apparently a spider several stories tall, the top of the Weaver was always hidden up in the sky until David finally confronted it as his mind succumbed to the Worldworm infection. The Weaver identified itself with the face and voice of David Haller, and seemed to claim that the Legion who acted as chief protagonist throughout X-Men Legacy Volume 2 was merely a splinter personality himself. This was not confirmed, and may have been merely metaphorical / moot, as David came to understand that ALL his personalities (even "himself") were splinters of one mind, as opposed to thinking of the various personalities as lesser versions of him.
