Last appearance: Uncanny X-Men #379-380 [It is unknown what happened to the Brotherhood members during the six-month-gap, but afterwards another Brotherhood led by Mystique appeared. Mimic was no longer with them, and the Toad has to apply for membership, so obviously this was another incarnation]
Before
- After his plans with the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants IV did not turn out, the Toad was seen in Generation X #18-19 in a safe place owned by Emma Frost (during Zero Tolerance). He seemed a little nuts and, as revealed in X-Men Forever #1, had to spend some time in a mental clinic after this story.
- Blob and Post both were recruited by Onslaught and worked for him on different occasions.
- Way back Mimic was an X-Men member for a brief period; he too was one of Onslaught's lackeys, but he must have been captured since in Excalibur (1st series) #122-125 he was saved from a stronghold of Zero Tolerance.
- Professor Xavier turned himself in for the crimes he commited as Onslaught, but during Zero Tolerance he was transferred to another prison, and later broken out by forces unknown.

| Uncanny X-Men #363, X-Men (2nd series) #83: | The X-Men search for their missing mentor and find him among a new Brotherhood (Blob, Toad, Post and Mimic) in the abandoned island prison Alcatraz. Apparently they broke him out of the Zero Tolerance base in order to receive help and training because they all were on the run from Cerebro. Cerebro is Xavier's mutant tracking device, which had gained sentience because of Bastion's nano-technology. Right into the middle of the meeting of the two groups Cerebro attacks. |
| Uncanny X-Men #364, X-Men (2nd series) #84: | Cerebro defeats both the Brotherhood and X-Men and catalogues them in his personal stasis bubbles. The mannite Nina restores Xavier's telepathy, who then is able to defeat Cerebro. |

- As of Uncanny X-Men #365, Xavier returned to the X-Men’s mansion, without the Brotherhood.

| X-51 the Machine Man #1-2: | Mystique hires the Brotherhood on a mercenary mission for Sebastian Shaw. Their task is to recover the remains of Machine Man, but they fail and are defeated by him. |
In between
- After the defeat of the Brotherhood, Post confronted Cable, who inspired him to try and turn his life around. [Cable (1st series) #72] He apparently met with little success since he was seen with the Brotherhood again soon after.
- Mystique used her powers to become a world-famous model for a while, until she was framed for crimes by the Skrulls. The X-Men helped clear her name. [X-Men (2nd series) #93-94]
- Mimic was caught and put into custody; in exchange for his freedom he agreed to perform a yet unrevealed special task for Valerie Cooper. [X-51 the Machine Man #6]

| Uncanny X-Men #379: | The Brotherhood (Mimic, Toad, Post, led by Blob) are seen in their hideout, dealing with the sudden worldwide loss of mutant powers. Toad without his mutant gene is a very handsome man. Mystique too is seen as she tried to infiltrate an FBI base, but she gets arrested when she reverts to her true appearance. |
| Uncanny X-Men #380: | Mystique contacts Rogue who acts as her lawyer, but she can't help Mystique to get out of prison. About a week later, all mutant powers return (thanks to the X-Men destroying the High Evolutionary’s satellite). Mystique impersonates a guard and busts out of prison, she vows revenge on Rogue for letting her stay there. The Blob too is seen in an embarrassing scene, as his clothes rip apart when his fat returns. |
Afterwards
- What happened to the various Brotherhood members during the six months gap is unrevealed, but it seems that the group fell apart.
- The status of the Mimic is unknown, as his mimicked powers were lost in Uncanny X-Men #379; his wings were shown falling off. A character that may have been a still-winged Mimic appeared in Thunderbolts #103 among the prisoners in the group’s Folding Castle.
- X-Men Forever #1 shows that the Toad lived in San Francisco for a while, whereas Mystique had infiltrated Senator Kelly's campaign headquarters. The series‘ conclusion in #6 explained the new “movie-fied“ appearances of Toad and Mystique.
- Not much later, Mystique reorganized the Brotherhood of Mutants III, of which Post, Blob and Toad would become part.

Powers: Great leg strength gives him enhanced agility and the ability to leap incredible distances. He also secretes an adhesive slimes through the pores on his hands which acts as a powerful glue and can slow the metabolism of others upon contact.
Fact: Toad’s powers were hinted to have been altered by a man called Surgeon in Generation X #18-19. It seemed that this was the explanation for Toad’s ability to secret adhesive slime. Yet X-Men Forever revealed that Toad‘s genetic make-up carried a defect which made his powers so unstable over the years.

Powers: Mutant genes give him blue skin, enhanced strength, speed, endurance, durability, and an analytical acumen. A blood transfusion from Cable gave Post a techno-organic viral infection, which interacts with his armored power pods that can manifest a teleportation unit, cloaking shield, plasma cannons, and scanning devices that identify and record mutagenic signatures, allowing him to adapt his power pods into combat modes suitable for that mutant.

Powers: Constantly emits invisible, psionic waves that perform a full-spectrum genetic scan on anyone nearby, causing him to assimilate their strength, intelligence, and any superhuman endowments. He now permanently possesses the power templates of the original X-Men, giving him superhuman strength, agility, reflexes, eyesight and hearing, telepathic and telekinetic abilities, exotic power beams fired from his eyes by metabolizing sunlight, the ability to cool and condense moisture to create ice, and large feathered wings that allow him to fly.
Fact: Originally Mimic's power was explained as artificial through a lab accident, though later it has been suggested as a latent mutant ability.
