Event Management

Event Month: Where no X-Men Logo has gone before So there is this guy who comes up with this crazy idea of having a whole load of updates on a daily basis for one particular aspect of the X-Men Universe (no wait, actually it was two guys). Next thing you know, they create something called the Event Month and somewhere along the line we thought it'd be cool to switch the logo for the month, so we did.

As it wasn't conceived of until the last minute, the creation of the logo came down to using images already created for the various articles for the Event Month, with the exception of the Xavier image which was done by making use of the already cut image from the previous logo, though in a different spot.

Staying out for the Summers Somewhere down the line, those same two geniuses thought that the Event Month was a pretty good concept and could be done again, so in the middle of February the second event occurred. This time is featured the Summers Family and the logo switched again to highlight the “Summers Month.” In retrospect, the only downside was that obviously no one thought about including Havok in that image.

The Beginning of the End Eventually, the site staff opted for having a third event, and this time we knew well in advance what topic was going to be covered. In the weeks leading up to the actual release, we put up a teaser to hint at the future event month’s topic. Slowly but surely a crystal wave started washing over the old logo, and diehard fans knew that it could mean only one thing – a return to the Age of Apocalypse. There were overall four stages of this image, the final one having the entire logo crystallized. The image of the crystal wave was given some transparency to still see the original image underneath.

Welcome to the Logo of Apocalypse And, once the site audience had been tortured long enough, and the Third Event Month eventually started, the Uncanny Xmen.net Logo was once more altered. This time, to mirror the title “Uncanny X-Men” having been replaced by “Amazing X-Men,” for the duration of this mega-crossover we slapped that book’s logo right on top of our regular Uncanny X-Men.Net logo, along with a number of familiar, yet changed faces.
